Departments, roles and who can see what
How access works: a role, given inside a department, decides what someone can do there.
Who: The owner or an Admin.
Departments
Go to Departments to add, rename or remove them and to file designations under each one. A person belongs to a primary department and can be added to more.
The built-in roles
- Super Admin — the owner. Can do everything, always.
- Admin — manages people, settings and every module.
- User — everyday staff: their own attendance, leave, expenses, payslips, and the projects and tasks they’re on.
- Client — an outside contact who can only see the projects they’re attached to.
Fine-tune permissions
In Roles & Permissions, pick a role and tick what it may do. A tick can apply everywhere (Global) or only inside one department — so a team lead can approve leave for their own department without seeing anyone else’s.
